| But... |
I DON'T WANNA MOVE TO CALIFORNIA!!!
Right now I am sooo overwhelmed. I was fine until Patrice called me and told me to call Rob, and then Rob called me back.
Today we had a bit of a hick-up in our class gift plans. One of the people we were going to ask recently had his wife die. So Rob was helping me figure out what to do, since asking for money deals a lot with relationships, and apparently when he was talking to the VP for Advancement at PUC, and now I'm supposed to send her my resume. Apparently she has a position open in her office and she's the same lady Rob started his career under.
So yeah... I'm definitely passionate about academic development... but California?!? First of all, the idea of living in CA doesn't really appeal to me. Secondly, I'm sick and tired of my relationship with Todd being long-distance! I'm ready to move to Orlando!
But anyway, here's the ugliness that's running around in my head. Perhaps God closed the doors at the Florida Hospital Foundation because this is what He had in mind instead. While I want to follow God's will, every time I think about the possibility of moving to CA I start crying. I'm just flat out, worn out right now. I know starting my development career at a University would pretty much guarantee me the freedom to go wherever I wanted in a few years, but I'm just tired of being separated from the people I love most.
So here's the current plan. I'll send her my resume with a polite letter. I'll continue to try and find the time to set up appointments in Orlando. ... and I'll pray like mad! ... and at this point, continue to cry when I think about California. |

Hey, I'll be praying for you about California. Don't forget: there could be some positive sides to it. At least you'd have access to awesome citrus fruit! Then again, I guess you'd have that in Florida too. :-)

I'm finally a college graduate who's now going in a direction different than my degree. Its stressful at times, but completely worth it.
